Love

Today was full of love. The kids made (lots) of Valentine's treats for their classmates and were eager to deliver them. (Thanks to Pinterest for the great bag toppers!)

Some were more special than others.

DuBose's teacher asked that we only send in cards for those in his class rather than the whole 2nd grade which is fine except his Valentine happens to be in another class. The two of them have been "in love" since preschool. She tends to make the grandiose declarations of love while he just blushes a lot. He's never said a bad thing about her - girls have cooties or whatever - just blushes and tells me that she is who he plays with at recess.

So I asked him if he thought he ought to make a Valentine for her, and he got this goofy grin and said yes. I emailed the teacher to ask if an exception could be made and promised he would be stealth about the delivering of his Valentine. She agreed. Who can stand in the way of young love after all? So my sweet sweet boy made a special Valentine and when I asked how the delivery went, the goofy grinning and the blushing commenced. "She really liked it. She gave me a big hug."

It's just too cute.

I made the kids little mailbox treats this year which they were pleased with -especially the chocolate inside :)

And then after school, Ellie and I had a special treat which was lunch at the Yacht Club with my parents and grandparents. Rushie and Ellie sat next to each other and just chatted the entire lunch about all sorts of things. It was very dear and so sweet that my baby knows her great-grandmother so well.





And Rushie loves to give her a ride on her walker which is a true delight to Ellie.

DuBose took me out for a special dinner which was extremely tasty and fun to be out at a fancy restaurant together!
